High Bar Gang Nominated for 2017 Juno Award!

Thank you CARAS!! We couldn’t be happier that our album “Someday The Heart Will Trouble The Mind” released by True North Records has been nominated for a 2017 Juno Award in the Traditional Roots Album of the Year category.

We would like to thank all the folks that helped get us here, especially Geoff Kulawick, Sherry Sinclaire, Jordan Moore, and everyone at True North Records; our recording engineer, Dave Meszaros; and our art director, Karen Walker Chamberlin who all brought the spirit of this record alive with their considerable skills and thoughtful contributions.

We’d also like to give a tip of the hat to our fellow nominees Ten Strings and a Goat Skin, Maria Dunn, Jenny Whiteley, and the East Pointers.

Last year, the High Bar Gang also made three videos filmed by our friends Julia Graff, James Perrella and Trent Freeman on Bowen Island, BC. The first was our take on Flatt and Scruggs’ “Don’t This Road Look Rough and Rocky” featuring Wendy, Kirby and Shari on vocals. The second was the Johnny Cash classic “I Still Miss Someone” with Shari on lead vocals. Our latest video “Jailer Jailer” is a tale of woe written by Peter Rowan, and features Barney on lead vocals. Hope you enjoy it!
